#94

By Janet

Those of you with multiple blogs or private blogs...if you could add a link to your blog when you comment, that would be GREAT!

And...here we go!

1. Follow the one who knows the way.
2. Lots of people have said it already but I do this as well, my pillow is something I always take with me on vacation.
3. To achieve your goals, you must have one.
4. I don't sleep well is something I'd like you to know about me.
5. I have a headache at the moment, unfortunately.
6. Styrofoam floats.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to my bf arriving (!!!), tomorrow my plans include hanging out with him, putting away groceries, and doing whatever else needs doing, and Sunday, I want to rest and try not to think about Monday!

Take 5 Tuesday for Tuesday 10/14/08

Today’s topics:
List…

1. 5 of your favorite recipes, (both to cook/bake and eat.)

Just 5? Some are on my recipe blog:
Chicken and Dumpling Soup

Fenikia (Greek honey cookie)

Fudge!

(so good it deserves 2 photos)

Baked Salmon
(no photo yet! just a salmon filet, with lemon and pepper, baked at 350F until firm)

Dumplings!
(no photo or recipe but I love them)

2. 5 things that have made you laugh lately.

The reaction to posting this in the DL forum*
The way my coworker can stretch what should be a 30-second call into a 15 minute drama makes me laugh. (Sometimes. Like today.)
This photo! Warning, it's not pretty but definitely amusing.

How sad....I can only think of 3 things. Glad the day isn't over yet, maybe there will be more.

3. 5 things you would do if you were fearless.

Surf - I love the ocean but worry about sharks and other lurking dangers.
Move to Holland - bf lives there. I live here, too far away.
Go to concerts/movies/restaurants alone (alone!? are you kidding!? ack!!)
Write/Sing/Act/Draw - I have creative urges but not often the courage to pursue them.
Anything I'm too afraid to do now - Unfortunately, that's too long a list to note.

4. 5 things in your bedroom.

Mini-me TV
VCR
Books
Bed
Fan/air conditioner(soon to be removed, it's time/heater(portable, no heat otherwise)

5. 5 things you can’t replace.

Family
bf
(the) past (wish that could be over-written in places)
body parts (not to be gross or anything but prosthetics are useful but aren't the same)
The zillions of family photos from years past, some in albums, some not. Reminders of who we've loved and perhaps lost, but cherish still.

Enjoy the rest of your day, and your week!
That's My Answer! "Fright Night"

If you were to put together a Movie Fright Night, what scary movies would you be sure to show?

Not a gore-fest fan but a little scare can be fun.

Alien (any, or all... love this series, more implied gore than actual gore)

The Others

Signs

Cat People (Maybe... this scared the heck out me when I was kid. Might be fun to see it with "adult eyes")
Ten on Tuesday

That's My Answer!
-All About You-

Have you ever run out of gas?
--No

Or locked your keys in your car?
--Heh, um, yes. Wouldn't have been too big of a deal except I was at work both times. (happened withint 2 months of each other too)

How about with your car running?
--No, thankfully not.

And have you ever parked your car, then couldn’t remember where you parked it?
--Yes, especially in a huge parking lot. And (my justification for senior moments like this) it's easy to forget where you park if you go in one entrance and come out another. :)

Be honest, how often do you wash your car?
--Not as often as I should!

randomness...feed your mind and your blog

10.12 Happy Haunting

1. What's your favorite Halloween costume? Do you still dress up for Halloween?

I don't dress up for Halloween anymore. Don't really have a favorite costume.

2. Pumpkin Carving, is it fun or overrated?

I think it can be fun if you have a knack for it. There are some really creative people out there. And if you don't have a knack for it, you can just get messy and have a little fun, and then bake the seeds from the insides because they make a good snack.

3. What's your fav Halloween treat?

Chocolate :)

4. Do you watch scary movies? If so, what are your favorites?

I don't watch scary movies very often (and no horror) The last one that really got me was Signs*. I liked The Others* too. (psychological thrillers! do they count?)

5. What's your favorite scary book?

The Stand*.

till next time....

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to sleep, tomorrow my plans include lots of lifting and carrying and Sunday, I want to rest and forget Monday is coming!

Wednesday Weirdness #23

1.) Have you ever purchased an item of clothing and intentionally worn it with tags on it so that you could return it the next day?

No.

2.) Would you rather be late to the party, or the first person to arrive? Why?

I'd rather be early so I can scope out my spot, and be able to watch everyone else arrive.

3.) When do you usually begin your Christmas shopping?

Used to be as early as June. Now, it's November. We only buy for the kids now.

4.) What three cancelled tv shows do you wish they’d bring back?

Dead Like Me, Sex and the City, Facelift (my favorite HGTV show)

5.) What do you have in your vehicle's glove compartment?

Auto Manual, zippy bags, scrunchie, napkins, tire gage

6.) Have you ever donated blood?

No. I want to but certain medications I'm on disqualify me.

7.) Have you ever kissed or dated someone elses significant other? What happened?

No.

8.) Have you ever mistaken one product for another while in the bathroom and didn't notice until after you used it? (EXAMPLE: Washing your hair with liquid body soap, slathering hand soap on your legs instead of lotion after a shower, et cetera)

Yes, mistook the conditioner for the shampoo a few times.

9.) Would you/Have you ever dated someone who had a criminal record?

It would depend what they did, and what kind of person they are.
